Activated alumina is an excellent desiccant for drying a wide variety of liquids and gases. Our activated alumina has been developed with high attrition resistance and crush strength, It has larger water adsorption capacity comparing to molecular sieve at high relative humidity and providing long service life with performance at or below dew point specifications. Activated alumina is widely used in large and small dryers. It is appropriate for use in dehydrating gases in both thermally regenerative and pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process.

    Product Applications

    1. Drying

BOAO activated alumina is the best for drying compressed air with long service life and performance at or below dew point specifications. BOAO activated alumina is appropriate for use in dehydrating gases in both thermally regenerative and pressure swing (PSA) modes.

Water removal is often necessary for efficient processing, storage and transportation of fluids. The 3/16″(4.7mm) size is normally recommended for vapor phase dehydration applications where pressure drop minimization yet high H2O adsorptive capacity is desired. The 1/8″ and 7 x 14 Tyler mesh sizes are recommended for use in liquid dehydration and other mass transfer limited adsorption applications.

    2. guard bed protective layer

BOAO Activated alumina serves to protect the adsorbents bed from liquid water and liquid hydrocarbons carried over from upstream units, or formed in the pipeline through condensation. Since liquids would severely damage the adsorbents layers close to the inlet of the vessel, BOAO Activated alumina guard beds are used to protect the bed. The function of the guard bed is to pick up these free liquids, thus protecting the following adsorbent layers.
